Everything you need to know to start using the Slpy API

Search, Geocoding, and Autocomplete

Our API allows multiple types of search for geocoding addresses, points of interest, and helping to guide and enhance user inputs with Autocomplete.

Geocoding is the process of converting addresses (such as a street address) into geographic coordinates (such as latitude and longitude), which can be used to place markers on a map, or position the map. Reverse geocoding is the process of converting geographic coordinates into a human-readable address. It can be used to improve data visualization and analysis in businesses by mapping customer data and identifying patterns and trends.

Search is closely related to Geocoding in our services, and uses the same API. Search typically relates to points of interest or named locations like cities or towns, as opposed to street addresses. Depending on your needs, you may want to test your search needs with our Autocomplete service which also provides geographic coordinates.

Autocomplete for addresses and named locations, also known as "address suggestion" or "address auto-fill," is a feature commonly used in forms, search bars, and mapping applications. It allows users to quickly and easily find and select a specific address or named location from a list of suggestions as they type. Additionally, it can also be used to validate addresses and named locations in real-time, ensuring that they are accurate and up-to-date.
